Permanent Make Up / Cosmetic Tattooing

Permanent Make Up - also referred to as Cosmetic Tattooing - give you the benefits normally achieved through the skilled use of makeup. It changes your appearance in ways that you desire. The great advantage is its permanent nature - you are assured to look good right around the clock. You can shower, swim and perspire while remaining confident that you are always looking great! Your perfectly applied Cosmetic Tattoo is guaranteed never to smudge, run or leave you at that special function with half an eyebrow missing!

Once the procedure is finished, the immediate results will look darker than desired for up to 4 or 5 days, after which time the area will flake and peel away leaving the colour softer and more natural looking.

How is Cosmetic Tattooing Performed?

Using the finest quality, disposable needle, a colour pigment is introduced into the skin. The needle is dipped into the pigment and the tip of the needle inserted into the skin, allowing the skin to absorb the colour. Unlike traditional body tattooing, the needle penetration in cosmetic Tattooing is shallow and feels like a scratching sensation on the skin.

What Areas Can Be Done

  • Eyeliner:

Every woman knows that well applied eyeliner will accentuate the eyes, making lashes look darker and thicker and giving your eyes that certain sparkle. However, applying your own eyeliner is difficult and time consuming, and if you need glasses to see, an almost impossible mission to accomplish! With Cosmetic Tattoo, your eyeliner is applied in the colour and style you choose. From soft and natural to a more glamorous look, whatever the choice, one thing is for certain... you can throw out your pencils and liquid liners for ever!

  • Eyebrows:

Not everyone will need the Cosmetic Tattooing procedure done on their eyebrows, but for anyone who has been living with the headache of having to pencil in their eyebrows every single day, this procedure is a welcomed relief. Imagine the time you will save let alone the confidence you will feel knowing that no matter what you do, your eyebrows will be there, perfectly applied in a flattering shape and colour, day and night. Poor eyesight, gaps, scars, missing ends or just over plucked into a horrific shape, no matter what the reason, if your brows need help, then Cosmetic Tattoo is the answer.

  • Lipliner:

A Lipliner Cosmetic Tattoo procedure is the perfect way to enhance the shape and colour of lips and looks fantastic with or without lipstick. It is the perfect solution for anyone wanting fuller, youthful, more symmetrical lips. Pale lip colour, blurred lipline or scaring can all be corrected permanently, so you can confidently drink, eat and... kiss... knowing that your lips look perfect.

  • Full Lip Colour

Forget reapplying your lipstick! With this Full Lip Colour procedure all youForget reapplying your lipstick! With this Full Lip Colour procedure all you'll need is a little gloss and go, Guaranteed not to kiss off!

  • Beauty Spot:

Find your best feature and accentuate it!

  • Paramedical Correctional Procedures:

Correctional procedures performed with Cosmetic Tattooing can be performed for Nipple Areola re-pigmentation, necessary after procedures such as mastectomy or breast reduction and in certain instances, post surgery scarring can be successfully camouflaged. Similarly, the Cosmetic Tattoo procedure can be used to correct lip shape after Clef Lip surgery or accident scars on lips, eyelines and eyebrows.

How long does it last?

The pigment in the skin can last up to 5 years or more, depending on the colour used and individual variations in the skin replacement rates. The average length of time is around 2 to 3 years but many clients have reported their Cosmetic Tattoo having lasted much longer. Light colours, which some clients often choose for first treatments may be a little less definite and will start to fade out beforehand.

The Procedure

Treatment time varies depending on the extent and nature of the treatment. An appointment time of 1 hour is generally allowed. We recommend that you visit iBeauty for a Free Consultation with Stefania, prior to booking your procedure appointment. During your consultation you will have the opportunity to discuss your personal needs in terms of area, shape and colour. You will also be able to view our collection of before and after photographs of procedures done by Stefania Capitelli.

What About Hygiene?

Our salon has been approved and licensed by the Brisbane City Council for Skin Penetration Services. This means we follow and adhere to strict council guidelines about the area and equipment that is used during our Cosmetic Tattoo procedures. The needle and all machine attachments are disposable and treatments are performed under sterile conditions, with every precaution taken for you.

Are There Any After Effects

Mild swelling may occur and if so will usually subside within 24 hours. People who are prone to cold sores very occasionally develop a cold sore following treatment to the lips. This can be easily avoided by using topical cold sore application such as Zovirax for a period of time following the procedure.

What Is The Colour Pigment Used?

The pigments used are manufactured specifically for use in Cosmetic Tattooing and differ from those used in traditional tattooing. The darker colour such as black, browns and grays are iron oxide based in distilled water and/or glycerine and the bright colours such as red, pinks and oranges are usually organic based suspended in distilled water and/or glycerine. The organic based pigments do not last as long as skin as the iron oxide based pigments and will need more regular maintenance.
